Khiva, Itchan Kala

The city of Khiva, in Khorezm. The main monuments are relatively recent, as the city was razed several times, but mainly by the Mongols in the 13th century.
Currently the city is a museum city for tourists. Already in Soviet times, monuments were restored to offer a vision of an oriental city.

The center of the city, the ancient city is called Itchan-kala. It is surrounded by a 2300m wall. long and 8 m high.
